LANGELEBEN - THE REUNION

(How it all began)

Towards the end of 1991 advertisements appeared in
"The Wire" and "The Legion" magazines and other media outlets,
announcing the closure of LANGELEBEN and
 a "Farewell Reunion" to be held on 26 - 27 June 1992.

The Outline Programme was to be as follows:

Friday 26 June Morning Arrive. Settle in, local hotels or Langeleben.
    Lunch under own arrangements

1400 - 1600 Open Day in camp (not open to public)
    Static equipment demonstration.
    Stall, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers etc.

  1700 - 1730 Beating Retreat at Langeleben.

  2000 - late Get-together in Lutterspring Gaststatte.

Dancing, entertainment, hot meal.

Saturday 27 June Morning/Afternoon Free to visit local areas

1800 Church Service in the Kaiserdome

Evening The Königslutter Schutzengilde extends an
    invitation to the annual Shutzenfest

This was indeed an occassion to be remembered, the administration was excellent,
old aquantances were renewed and everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

During the weekend a copy of this letter was available for everyone:

    Field Station Langeleben
14 Signal Regiment (EW)
B.F.P.O. 101
or
3308 Königslutter am Elm

All Langeleben
Old Comrades

It seems a pity to have contacted and brought together so many Old Comrades just to see them disperse on
29 June for good. Regimental HQ Royal Signals has suggested that we form a "Langeleben Reunion Club", affiliated to the Royal Signals Association, with possibly an annual or bi-annual dinner in somewhere like the Victory Services Club in London, or even Loughborough. To this end, we would like to gauge the support for
such a move. This would of course require the efforts of a band of willing organisers to set up such a club.
If you are interested, then please return this form to the above address.

A meeting was held in Banbury on 7th April 1993 where the "Langeleben Reunion Association" was born.
